The Nest Community Lunch

Join us for a free community lunch prepared by the team from Re:fuse Chester-le-Street, using fresh surplus food that would otherwise go to waste. Around 150 nourishing meals will be served, celebrating creative, sustainable cooking and the power of food to bring people together. Alongside the lunch, there will be stalls and interactive activities from local organisations, including a smoothie bike where you can cycle to blend your own fresh fruit drink. The event is part of the Yorkshire Day celebrations taking place across the town that day, adding to a wider programme of community events and local pride. It is all about preventing food waste, saving money, protecting the planet, and most importantly, enjoying good food and good company in a welcoming community space.
