Food as seeds, seeds as food workshop
A short workshop with Catherine Howell of the Gaia foundation, introducing the concept of seed sovereignty and its relationship to issues of food security, the connection between seed and the food we eat, and exploring the use of bought food seeds as seeds for growing.
The aim is to embed understanding that seeds form as a result of food growing, but also to enable people to begin using some of the food they have accessible at home (lentils, peas, beans, some spices, fruit) to grow their own food without risk or extra expense.
The workshop will be a mix of theory, demonstration and simple practical activities that will include working with seeds and compost. No previous experience necessary.
